Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, why it is used, and the limited situations in which another party may receive it. By continuing to use Donley County Criminal History, you accept these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. Donley County Criminal History does not keep a local log of those search terms.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within the site team unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, the servers receive routine technical information about that visit:

  • Page-view dates and times
  • The referring website, when one is reported
  • Visited pages and approximate time spent on them
  • Device type and operating system
  • Browser type and version
  • The device's assigned IP address

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and analytics services help summarize traffic, popular pages, and points where visits end. A browser can block cookies, although doing so may change how some site functions behave.

What We Do With This Data

  • Routing a submitted search to the selected partner service
  • Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
  • Maintaining site availability and performance
  • Measuring which pages are useful or need improvement
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Donley County Criminal History does not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general routing information for the Donley County Sheriff, the local courts, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report or a record about another person.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by that partner's privacy policy rather than this one. Each company sets its own retention and disclosure practices, which are outside our control. Read those terms before running a search.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Sheriff pages, court resources, Texas agencies, legal assistance, or outside search services. Once you leave this site, the destination's privacy terms control. Review them before providing personal information.

Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. That tracking is governed by the provider.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold. It may be disclosed to:

  • Advertising networks that serve content on the pages
  • Analytics providers used for traffic and performance measures
  • Search partners that process a query you submit
  • Government or law-enforcement bodies when valid legal process requires disclosure

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for collected data. No internet system can guarantee complete security, so a breach cannot be ruled out.

Users Under 18

The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Information identified as belonging to a minor will be removed after notice.

Your Data Rights

Applicable Texas consumer-protection law, including the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act in Business and Commerce Code Chapter 17, may provide rights in addition to the choices described here. The Texas Public Information Act governs access to public government records, while Government Code section 411.135 defines the criminal-history information DPS may release publicly. Those laws govern official records, not data held by this private site. You may:

  • Request deletion of eligible data
  • Ask what information is held about you
  • Seek correction of inaccurate information
  • Object to certain forms of processing
